Mindfulness helps young people lead happier, more fulfilled and connected lives. It is an invaluable tool for staying grounded in the present, overcoming anxiety, fear, and re-activity. Mindfulness encourages the attitudes of mindfulness, kindness, generosity, patience, trust, and gratitude. Brain imaging studies show that a mindfulness practice reliably and profoundly alters the structure and function of the brain to improve the quality of thought, feeling and concern for others.
What is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness helps train attention. Its practice trains young people to be aware of what is happening now, rather than worrying about what has happened or what might happen.
Why we teach it?
The scientific evidence is clear, mindfulness is capable of improving mental health and well-being, mood, self-esteem, positive behaviour and academic learning.
How we do it?
We specialise in delivering the MiSP Mindfulness curriculum, based on rigorous research in clinical psychology and neuroscience, written by teachers for teachers.
Who are we?
Bee Present is a social enterprise company (CIC) based in North Wales. Our primary aim is to empower young people to strengthen their own physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing.
Our People
Chrissy Kitchiner is founder and director of Bee Present CIC. Her experience as a parent, a teacher, an entrepreneur, and a qualified meditation teacher make her ideally placed for this role.
Subsidised Courses
Thanks to our funders we are able to deliver a range of subsidised courses to children and young people. Our intention is to make mindfulness more accessible to schools and youth organisations.
The Curricula/Courses
This is a full curriculum where each course is designed as a building block to the previous one, designed to support young people throughout their formative years, from aged 3 right up to young adulthood age 18. Thanks to our funders we offer a range of fully funded and part funded Courses.
